Yesterday was the earthstrong of the living legend Burning Spear. To commemorate this day I would like to share with you a rarely circulated interview with Spear from the underground Los Angeles punk zine Slash.
Also, one of my favorite Spear tunes, from the album Marcus Children, “Marcus Senior.”
LEGENDARY REGGAE 
Interesting to note that the interviewer thought that Spear’s new album was called “HELM.” I had to look that up and it was quickly apparent, due to the date of the interview and no other album sounding like that name, that it must be the Hail H.I.M. album which was released in 1980. I can imagine hearing the patois from Spear, it may have sounded like “Hail ‘im” or…HEL’M.
