What a wicked night of roots rock reggae music in Humboldt as Protoje and Indiggnation made a stop on his Ancient Future tour in Arcata. Having missed him at Sierra Nevada, I was excited to see him perform and he did not disappoint. Opening acts Ishi Dube and Jah Sun got the vibes going with Protoje coming on stage around midnight. His band Indiggnation started with a smoking dub track and were super tight all night. Protoje did many of his hits and personal favorites like Rub a Dub Soldier, Dread, This Is Not A Marijuana Song, Kingston Be Wise. Hail Rastafari, and Who Knows. He also did some new songs like Criminal and Answer To Your Name which was the first time he performed that track live on stage.
