Here is my favorite Wackies release of all time.  Hands down.  Junior Delahaye’s “Movie Show” issued on 12″ vinyl.  His angelic vocal over a Jah-T’s rolling bass and drum riddim that is just infectious.  I love how he opens the song, stretching his vocal along the riddim track…”Oh hooooow, I caaaaaaararare for the love you gave to me.”  Damn, he nails that open.
Here is how Basic Channel, the Wackies reissue label, describes it:
“This 12″ came originally in 1981 in fine underground style with white or blue Wackies labels, with and without information stamped on. The A differs from the album cut; the dub is right up there with Bullwackies’ – anybody’s – best.”
This one takes me back to the fall of 1988 when a dude who I used to surf with had various Wackies tunes copied to a cassette tape.  We would pick up and go surfing after school everyday because the summer crowds and beach restrictions were gone.  This was the first track on that cassette.  How do I remember?  Because we would rewind it so many times that we never heard the other tracks until the drive back home.  Simply magic…
