I have included a concert review that was published in the Boston Globe on Monday, March 12, 1979. It clearly refers to a Peter Tosh performance on the previous Friday, March 9, 1979, and probably a second show on Saturday, March 10, 1979. March 8-9, 1979 is currently regarded as the dates for Tosh’s 2-night stand at the Bottom Line in NYC, however, as you can see, the Boston Globe disagrees with what we have documented currently.
According to Allan Pepper and Stanley Snadowsky, who owned the Bottom Line, Tosh played the club on March 7th and 8th 1979, the show on the 8th being broadcast on WNEW.

THANK YOU
I was at both shows, both nights and had no idea it was broadcast. Any way of getting that broadcast?
You were at the Boston or New York shows?
I listened to Tosh’s show at the Bottom Line on WNEW Radio-New York . It was Thursday March 8, 1979 and it was a midnight show. …this might be considered by some as Friday!!, hence the confusion.
He was singing “African” I recorded in my diary at 1AM….”The audience sound enthusiastic tho I hear no “Hail Jahs” or “Legalise it” being yelled. Now If I was there!”–I wrote. Two of my friends however got in (It was Sold Out) and said Tosh oozed a mystical quality. Also, that Jagger, Richards and Wood of the Stones were in the audience.
I didn’t miss Tosh totally: I saw & spoke to him during Summerfest ’77 in Bermuda and later when he performed at The Pier in NYC. Happy tho to see the Bottom Line show was recorded for history…
