Today marks 34 years since Bob Marley’s historic performance at the One Love Peace Festival. On April 22, 1978, Bob Marley returns to his homeland after a 14 month exile in London and staggers a crowd of 35,000 with a short, but fiery set that goes down in history as one of his best. In my opinion, the only performance that eclipses the OLPC is Smile Jamaica, which occurred on December 5, 1976-just 2 days after Marley and his wife are shot during an assassination attempt.
To commemorate the performance, I have included a link to my One Love Peace Concert profile which includes press clippings, audio, and video of the show.
