Big up our good friend and producer Guillaume Bougard who just sent us this rough mix of a track titled “Alone Again,” which Rugs recorded in 2010 during a day off of a Third World tour in Europe.
It is also Bougard who turned us on to this unreleased gem, Rugs voicing Carlton “Tetrack” Hines’ masterful “Rumours,” which was a monster hit for Gregory Isaacs.

Unfortunately, Rugs passed this past February. He was such a monumental voice and one of the few truly pivotal figures the music has ever known. Check this tribute video we produced to commemorate all of the great sounds and vibes Rugs and ThirD World blessed us with.
Give thanks to Guillaume for allowing us to hear that voice one more time.

Alone Again sounded very familiar… It’s a cover of a hit song by Gilbert O-Sullivan song from 1972. It was probably a big hit here in Sweden since I remember it and the wiki also told me it was a US #1 and UK #3 hit.
