Today we take a look at one of Tosh’s most famous performances outside Jamaica – Greek Theatre, 1983.  This lively performance, which is preceded by an opening set by Dennis Brown, was captured on audio and video and released as Peter Tosh ‘Captured Live,’ one of the truly great live albums in reggae history.  In my opinion, Tosh’s performance of ‘Bush Doctor’ and ‘Where You Gonna Run’ during this show is nothing if not stunning.  Word, Sound, and Power prove once again that they are the tightest band in the game.

Here is a review of the show by L.A. Times reporter Don Snowden, published August 24, 1983:

‘Johnny B. Goode’

Where You Gonna Run’

‘Equal Rights/Downpressor Man’
