Bob Marley and the Wailers record 2 sessions for BBC’s legendary DJ John Peel in 1973.

The first session, recorded on May 1, 1973 is actually broadcast for the first time on May 15, 1973.  Repeat broadcasts air July 24, 1973 and July 14, 1980.  This session comes on the heels of the release in the UK of 2 brand new singles in March 1973.  “Concrete Jungle“ is release by Island as the first single from the forthcoming Catch A Fire album on March 20, 1973.  The following week, Island Records releases “Slave Driver” (single “Get Up, Stand Up” b-side) on March 27, 1973.  Island officially releases the Wailers’ debut album for the label Catch A Fire on April 13, 1973.  Peel records three tracks during this first session:
