The Wailers reunite to perform two songs at a benefit show held at the National Arena on May 31, 1974.  The Wailers, opening for very popular Motown recording artist Marvin Gaye, reunite to play “Lively Up Yourself” and “Trenchtown Rock.”  Other performers on the benefit show bill include Marcia Griffiths, I-Threes, and ZAP-POW.

The Wailers actually reunite to play two shows opening for Marvin Gaye.  The first is held at the Carib Theater on May 21, 1974.  I have included a short review of that show published on May 25, 1974 in the Jamaica Gleaner.  Lee Jaffe makes his debut as a Wailer at this show, playing harmonica on “Rebel Music (3 O’clock Road Block).”

The second show takes place at the National Arena on May 31, 1974 and is featured in the rare video clip included.

In addition, I have also included an audio download of the Carib Theater show on May 21, 1974.  This show, an audience recording,  is presented in lossless (FLAC) audio.
