I’m sharing this rare recording which was given to me by the late Jerry Stein, an independant filmmaker who spent significant periods of time in Jamaica during the late 1970s gathering footage and interviews for his film about the Soul Syndicate band titled Word, Sound, and Power.
This appears to be The Upsetters rehearsing an obscure tune titled “Righteous Land” by an artist named Aleus Jube. The tune was issued by Pressure Sounds as part of their deep dive into Lee “Scratch” Perry’s more obscure catalog.
