As we wrap on Rockers week here at the MIDNIGHT RAVER BLOG, never fret. I will continue to promote the fine music of Addis Pablo and the Suns of Dub. Augustus Pablo’s spirit will live on here for as long as I continue to bring the best in dub and reggae to the people. In that light, I am currently researching and preparing a written piece on the late, great Hugh Mundell. I am working with several people who knew him well, and it is a known fact that the person who had the greatest influence in his life-as a father figure, as a spiritual guide, as a mentor in the business – was none other than Augustus Pablo. Soon come…

I THANK YOU FROM WITHIN IN MY BEING. FOR KEEPING PABLO’S MUSIC ALIVE FOR HIS FAMILY, FRIENDS AND HIS FANS AS WELL. I ALSO THANK YOU FOR DOING ALL THAT YOU ARE DOING TO HELP BRING TO THE WORLD ADDIS PABLO. I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE SHARED A PART OF MY LIFE WITH PABLO, AND TO GIVE HIM A SON WHO CONTINUES TO WALK TALL AND PROUD IN HIS FATHER’S FOOTSTEPS. THE LEGACY CONTINUES.
I OFTEN GET EMOTIONAL WHEN I HEAR ADDIS BLOWING THE MELODICA, SOUNDING SO MUCH LIKE HIS FATHER. LOVE TO PABLO AND ADDIS ALWAYS AND UNCONDITIONALLY..
Jah blessed that connection I made with Addis. What strikes me the most is that instead of running far away from his father’s sound, as most do in this business when they have a famous father, he instead embraces that sound and looks to bring it forward. That is a very prudent move. He should not try to redefine his own sound for fear of sounding too much like his father. That would be a mistake. Instead, what he is doing is taking that sound that vibes with all human beings (if they would just allow themselves to feel) and bringing it forward by making futuristic musical compositions that span many genres like dub, atmosphere, chill, dubstep, etc. So, in effect, what he is doing is making his father’s sound even more accessible while at the same time composing his very own music. It’s brilliant, really.
