Bob Marley and the Wailers play the famed Maple Leaf Gardens on June 9, 1978, just several months after his historic performance at the One Love Peace Concert.
Bob Marley was interviewed by CCTV’s Sandie Rinaldo in a feature that originally aired on June 12, 1978. As you can see, it was a very different world in 1978. Whereas today Bob would be treated like a king wherever he would go, in his heyday he was often treated with disrespect because of his religious beliefs and appearance.
If they only knew then what we know now…
Here is video footage of Bob and his band of Wailers performing “Concrete Jungle” at the Maple Leaf Gardens on June 9, 1978.

I don’t think the world is much different today. The media still focuses on the herbs and InI appearance. Meanwhile, they miss the message and more importantly they lose sight of who InI are representing, the most important man to ever walk the Earth, Emperor Haile Selassie I. Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess…
But still…I love how Bob was able to deflect these types of detractors. She may talk pretty, but Bob’s knowledge of the intricacies of language far outweigh her deaducation.
