From July 6 to 22 and for the first time, a whole night is dedicated to Reggae. The shows were quickly sold out for Dennis Brown, Steel Pulse and Peter Tosh. The program also includes music from Brazil with Elis Regina and Hermeto Pascoal. Japan is represented by Ondeko-Za and Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio on July 11.  Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock are playing together. Sir Charles Thompson, B.B. King, Albert Collins and his Icebreakers, Champion Jack Dupree, Taj Mahal, Little Milton, Lonnie Brooks and Clarence « Gatemouth » Brown are also in Montreux for a few Blues moments. A gala evening with Ella Fitzgerald and Count Basie July 12 and the exceptional return of Weather Report with Peter Erskine, Jaco Pastorius, Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinul. Top Jazz Fusion music with Lee Ritenour, Philip Catherine plays trio with Jerry Brown and John Lee. Grover Washington, Al  Jarreau, only concert in Europe with Larry Carlton as a guest artist. Jazz Rock with Spyro Gyra, Jasper Van’t Hof, Bob Malik, Alphonse Mouzon and Miroslav Vitous. Two musicians from the legendary English progressive Rock Band YES are on stage each with his own band. Rick Wakeman and Steve Howe. Let us not forget Bessie Griffin who takes part to the ecumenical service in the Clarens church not far away from Montreux.
